What I Do

My name is Hannah Smallhouse.  I am currently a student at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln studying Business, Global Studies and Spanish specializing in Entrepreneurship.  I created Máthisi to help family businesses thrive in an ever-changing world, inspired by my own family business.

I grew up sixth generation on a farm and ranch.  Day by day I understood more and more the gifts and curses of family business.  My family business shaped me, and I would drop everything if it were in trouble.  I have made it my mission to keep families like mine and their businesses together.  I understand the struggles.  I understand that family is the most important community in our lives.  I started Mathisi to help families continue to have moments like I have with my father on the ranch, mother in the office and brother in the field.  To see the pride one generation has passing the business to the next generation.  The moments when the older and younger leaders learn from each other.  Mathisi is committed to continuing those learning moments for generations to come.
